In our last episode of aequa radio on @​​refugeworldwide, Sarj and guests explored once again the concept of mutual aid — it was such a big and juicy topic that we simply couldn’t fit it into one show! While “aid” inherently has a ring of emergency to it, and many mutual aid efforts — such as those being organised by @operation.solidarity in Ukraine — are born in crisis, we want to talk about the ways that folks are building sustainable, decentralised support systems to meet both material and emotional needs.

We asked a few Berlin-based organisers to send us some thoughts on what mutual support looks like in their collectives or communities, especially in terms of what it means to listen to and see each other.
