Galeta is slang for record collection in the Costa Rican DJ community.

Ever since the war in Ukraine started, I was amazed by how the electronic music community reacted. It was very inspiring for me to see how some of my favorite artists and labels united quickly to support the people that are taking the worst part of this shameful chapter of recent history.

I don't believe war is part of our human nature. I think some have made us think this way using a particular narrative in order to benefit from the business side of it.

There are millions of examples of communities solving their issues peacefully. My country being one of the few without an army for more than 70 years now.

So this time I made a list of labels and artists that have released amazing music to collect funds and support different organizations involved in helping the people in Ukraine.

I've purchased only some of these compilations; the ones with the music I could actually play on my DJ sets. I know I've seen more albums these past weeks and I might add some more to this list if I see them again. If you have recommendations, share them!

The music you'll find in this list is kind of diverse. There's ambient, organic, jazz, techno, indie, trance and more. I hope this list will help you discover something you didn't know and that this small contribution brings some relief.

But most importantly, I hope this absurdity of a war will end soon. I hope our generation will learn from this, learn to choose our leaders wisely to change this unequal system we have created for good.
