But while the streets were wrapped in ice, music did what it does best - turned any space into something warmer, weirder, or just plain better. And this month’s batch of releases did exactly that. February felt like a love letter to electronic music in many moods. The long-awaited album from Love Over Entropy finally landed, and it’s every bit the stunner we hoped for. That’s joined by full-length gems from Rene Lorenzo(via Kizen), MPU101 (holding it down on Ilian Tape), and Monoparts, whose trip-hop excursion on A Strangely Isolated Place is a slow-burn delight. Need more home-listening fuel? Muzan Editions delivered a beautifully restrained ambient compilation, while Refracted went deep into mind-twisting drone and experimental realms on his latest EP on Titrate - headphones highly recommended. But maybe you’re looking for something with a pulse? No worries, February had that covered too. Atomic Moog brought the heat on Delsin, Hypnotic Black Magic worked her spells on Art Bei Ton, øsko kept things slick on PNN, and Entire locked in the weight on Onset Audio.
